$2267 from pixels

Wow, I knew it had been a while since I posted on my blog - sorry about that, I'm still alive in case you were wondering!

Well I'm still selling pixels on Every now and then another one gets sold. One of these days I'm going to get that homepage filled up and it's going to look great!

The site is coming up to nearly two years online so I guess I am making $1100/year from the site. I wish I had opened 10 of them now!

Hopefully within a couple of weeks I am going to work on picking up some more backlinks to the site to a) get more traffic b) generate more sales.

I still think £10 for a lifetime link is good value for money, a lifetime can be a pretty long time (touch wood).

The site dropped from a PR5 to a PR0 and then went back up to a PR3. This basically happened because it was listed on a lot of those "pixel toplist" sites that came about when the first MillionDollarHomepage opened. Most of those toplists have subsequently died and moved on into cyber-oblivion, of course I am still here. That's what you have to do if you are in it for the long term :-)

Anyway, just to let you know I am still here so that when you make a purchase you can be confident that you will get added straight away.

Permanent Links for just £10

That's basically what I am offering on I think it's quite hard to beat, and the anchor text on the category page makes it worth every penny.

It has been an interesting month with at least 5 or 6 new advertisers and it has now got at least 40. I am a dab hand at making little 10x10 pixel images now :-)
It's always a pleasure to sign into my paypal account and see that little "Payment Received" message.

Pixel sites are everywhere now and yet there aren't many who have followed my lead of making a standard directory (which webmasters like) and incorporating it into a pixel style homepage. There are a few who have copied, but I forget their names :-)

A search on Google for "pixel advertising" currently yeilds about 30 Million results, so I am glad that I stopped counting other pixel sites when I reached several hundred. No matter whether you like the concept of pixel advertising or not you should advertise your website in as many places as you can afford. It is the only way to increase traffic and also improve your search rankings on the search engines.

I have added a column of adsense to the left hand side of the homepage, this is so that I don't need to log into my hosting control panel to see how many visitors I have had, but can instead log into Google Adsense and check all my sites impressions at the same time (saving me at least 5 minutes/day)LOL!

I am working on several other projects at the moment (hence the lack of updates on this blog) but I do check this blog everyday for comments, so feel free to leave one.

I'm caught in the internet time machine.

WOW, when I used to have a proper job one day lasted forever, a week was hard work.
How can nearly 3 months slip by so quickly since my last post? There must be something wrong, I'm sure I only put my clock forward one hour?

Still selling spaces on, and it remains a solid PR5, Woohoo!

The whole pixel advertising explosion is still growing with ever more innovative ideas popping up all over the place. Some look great, yet it's strange to call back a couple of months later only to find they still haven't sold a single ad space.
Smash My Viper looked pretty good for a while and yet now I am thinking I would rather have the viper :-) That's a lot of car to waste for a few 1000 dollars.

Recently I have opened, I love it. If there was ever to be a set back opening a new website I think it pretty much has had it all. The last thing anyone can predict is the untimely death of your only advertiser ! It has made me appreciate what I have more than ever...I am so laid back right now I could almost limbo under my desk.

I would like to take a moment to thank the people who have so far advertised on, and if you get a moment go and take a look at their sites, after all that is why they are there.

OK, take it easy, try and relax...and keep those adverts coming.I'm off to look at the traffic stats for the past 3 months ;-)
